Personally, I really, really enjoyed the original. After being semi disappointed with a few of the other blockbusters this year- Transformers 2 blew me away.

Ridiculous storyline: Check
Loads and loads of transformers: Check
Humour: Check
Action by the shed load: Check
Mind bendingly awesome effects: Check
Optimus Prime kicking some serious ass: Check
Megan Fox running in slow-motion: Check, check double check

So, there you have it- I'd say it's as good as the first (as long as you enjoyed that one too). I'm off to see it again Wednesday- hurrah!

However- there is one... or should that be two particularly irritating things in the film, and it's something which I cannot understand. It seems Bay wanted to add more comedy characters into the mix and has therefore added two Autobots known as the twins (I'm not sure if they were in the cartoons, I can't remember!). Basically, they're the Transformers equivilant of Jar Jar Binks- they look ridiculous, they sound ridiculous and they get more screen time than some of the cooler Autobots- especially Bumblebee.
It may seem a small thing, but for me, they really dragged everything down. However, the majority of the film is just constant eye-blistering awesomeness... I heartily recommend!
